The best stock for the MCX/MPX and similar weapons with 1913 stock mounts
Written on Aug 10, 2024
Tis stock folds very thin, nearly as thin as the skeleton stock, but has a significantly better cheek weld and is adjustable for length.
Weight is similar to the skeleton stock.
Only Ape Defense currently makes a cheek riser for it, but it is very good in my opinion. Otherwise it would be nice to have more accessories for it.

For those needing a little extra height on their optics.

Review for
Unity Tactical Fast Absolute Riser
I got this so that I could use an absolute cowitness optic with the 2.26" NVG height of Unity and other company's optics mounts, risers, and accessories.
Quality is top notch.
I paired this with the optional QD lever and so far, it's been great. Although to be fair, I've only had it to the range once at this point.

very ergonomic, but not perfect

So far I'm really liking this, but the one knock I have against it is that it doesn't have any recoil lugs (or whatever you call them in MLok).
Meaning the only thing holding it in place are the MLok nuts. And the spacing is such that you can't brace the nuts in both directions against the slot edge. Meaning both nuts are against the forward edge or rear edge. But not both.
So, while I'm enjoying it, I wouldn't recommend it for serious use or hardcore competition.

Compact stock for your Sig rifles

SIG SAUER MCX/MPX Folding Stock
This is the stock seen on the Rattler SBR and SURG. It's very compact and extremely lightweight. If that's what you want, then I would recommend this option. Cheek weld isn't optimal, but this is more for CQB than precision marksmanship.

High quality, light weight

I love this mount. The quality is amazing. the color is perfect, and the weight is unreal.
I do have one complaint, though minor. The way it works is it only has two screws per ring because it cams into a key on the top. So what happens is as you tighten down the screws on the bottom the scope tries to rotate with the ring as it cams down from the top. You have to rotate the scope over a tad before you start tightening the bottom screws to compensate for the inherent rotation of the scope in order to make it end up in a level position.

Vortex Razor Red Dot AR15 Riser Mount
I love this little thing.
I used it on a TA-26 compact ACOG to bring it up to KRAM height. Very fast.
After I sold my TA-26 I put this under my Eotech EXPS 3-0. It has just a tiny bit of overhang on both ends, but it's very rock solid. It's at roughly the ideal height now for heads-up (passive IR) aiming with my night vision devices. And it's like 80% cheaper than a Wilcox mount. Is it better than a Wilcox mount? No, nothing is. But it's pretty dang close.
