Last year I had cataract surgery. The surgeon was unable to correct an astigmatism in my dominant eye so all my other red dots went out the window. With an astigmatism a typical red dot will be blurred or have doubled dots. After some reading and looking through them at a sporting goods store I confirmed that I could sharply see the reticle through a prism type sight. There aren't many 1X prism sights on the market. They are not inexpensive. The other popular alternative was a Vortex Spitfire 1X.

Swamp Fox is a relatively new competitor in the optics market. Swamp Fox has excellent customer service. I wrote them about my vision problems and they assured me that their prism sight would be a good solution. Because of Optics Planet liberal return policy I wasn't afraid to try it. I bought it at a great price. The fact that the Blade has a shake awake feature sealed the deal for me. The Blade was easy to set up and Zero. I have it on my home defense carbine. Meaning I'm betting my life on it.
