Just as described, packed well and shipped promptly. East to install, hardest part was removing the old spring retainer at the end of the magazine tube. The 8 shot extension is the perfect length for a 20" barrel. It adds 3 rounds of capacity to the S&W 3000 making it a 7+1 gun. The main drawback of these extensions is you have to take the extension off to remove the barrel from the gun (for cleaning, etc.) and then compress the spring and replace the extension when reassembling it. It would be nice to have the choice of a blued finish extension as well as the matte finish but I guess you can't be to choosy when you're looking for an accessory for a gun that hasn't been made in 30 years.

The description on this site doesn't list the actual lengths of the extension so here it is from the packaging.
7-shot (+2) extension is 6" (I assume this is the length you would want for an 18" barrel.
8 -shot (+3) extension is 8 1/8" (flush with the end of the 20" barrel model)
9-shot (+4) extension is 10 1/4"
10-shot (+5} extension is 14 3/4"
