The perfect upgrade for your Franchi or Benelli

Written on Sep 23, 2022

The Sure Cycle Oversized Frag Bolt Release Button, when paired with the Franchi Affinity 3 Carrier Latch, Threaded Button is the perfect upgrade for your Benelli semi auto or Franchi Affinity 3. I installed this pairing on my Benelli M2 left handed 12 gauge, my Benelli M4, and my Benelli Cordoba. It is a far superior bolt release than the factory bolt release tiny button. You do need to loctite the button down or it will become loose very quickly. Additionally, it is a massive improvement over the GG&G bolt release, which only work properly if you push it firmly in the center. If you hit the GG&G on the edge, it can cause an issue, since it doesn't fully engage the release.

Will save you pennies on the dollar

I have several 5.56 rifles, some ARs, some military piston guns. I bought an OSS suppressor and put the OSS flash hiders on all them. Two had a poor alignment. Without this rod I'd have risked a baffle strike and been out $1,000+. If this rod prevents a single baffle strike, it paid for itself many times over.

Does not work if you just push the front

Written on Feb 14, 2022

I bought this for my Benelli M2 but noticed an issue when using it. When you depress the button in the center, it functions properly. However, if you just push the front of the button, it causes a malfunction, because it doesn't depress your carrier latch far enough. This limited range of motion won't reset the Cartridge Drop Lever, since the carrier latch needs to move far enough back to disengage it. A much better option is the Franchi Affinity threaded bolt release and Sure Cycle Oversized Bolt Release. It'll work in a Benelli and doesn't have this issue.
