This is my 4th Forster Ultra Micrometer seater die and the all work exceedingly well. What I like about the micrometer version is that it allows you change bullet styles with only a twist of the micrometer. I can go from a 45 grain pill to an 80 grain pill by consulting my notes and making the adjustment without having to make a lot of minor adjustments. Always keeps my bullet runout to less than 3 thousandths of an inch or less. No muss no fuss
I received this scope in June of 23 and mounted right away. The initial sight in went well but I found the turrets very hard to calibrate to the desired setting. With 3 screws to untighten and tighten to remove the cap there was a lot of movement and the zero I had obtained was moved then I was back at square one to zero again. It took several range trips to work through the problems. Then came my 1st match with it. When I tried to get the best focus I could I realized that no matter what I did, adjusting the quick focus ring an or adjusting the parallax to slightly different settings I could not get the target image to clear up. Big disappointment. Another drawback is that the center dot is so small that it is hard to see on the target even when the illumination is on its highest level. I'm going to contact the company and see if they will replace it because of the clarity issue and hope for the best.
I have 2 of these scopes both mounted on compact rifles in 308 win. The first one I purchased has performed up to expectations but the other was as disappointment and had to be sent back to Vortex for repair. It now resides on a Ruger 10-22 and is great for that application. My worry is that the other one will fail by fogging up when I need it the most. I will continue using it on the range until my confidence is restored.
