I've gone through a few gun cases over the years. Most are too heavy and/or have too many pockets bulging out everywhere. This is a simple case that is well designed and well built. It's reasobably light and narrow. It also has a cool waterproof protective coating that has a sort of rubberized feel to it. You will not find a higher qualty case for the money: YKK Zippers, 3" Support Rib, 1000D Cordura, 1 1/8" Closed Cell Foam on both sides, Reinforced Stitching, Interior Straps.

Well Built, Too Heavy for a Backpack

This case is well built and has many options for packing stuff in it. The problem is it weighs 7 lbs empty. That may not sound like much, but every pound counts hiking up a hill. Also the straps are not well padded and overall it's a bit awkward to wear as a packback. It would be great for the range via car, but not for hiking in. By comparison my Elite Survival Assault Case has better padding, is just as well built, but only weighs 2.8 pounds! I was hoping this would be a bit bigger case for longer trips, but not weigh much more.
