Crystal clear, intense tube. Very nice, light unit. Easy to use, with a decent illuminator built in. Awesome image quality. Only complaints are the cheap j-arm and head harness with it. Also a cheap carrying bag with no padding. oh well, at least it came with them. Also the casing looks flimsy plastic, but I understand you want to use that vs aluminum because of wieght, so a pass on that. Dont abuse it, thats for sure.

Resolution and clarity are outstanding, so I recommend this.

Guys, this is my 2nd swampfox, and it is almost comical how good these are for the money. The whole thing from top to bottom screams of care, attention to detail, and quality. Feels very rugged. The turrets feel solid and tactile with good clicks and reset to zero. The glass is superb all the way across at any magnification. The reticule is very useful and complete (also has hold-unders), and with illumination from dusk to midday sun. HUGE magnification range. This is FFP, so your reticule will get larger with zoom, giving you a aiming point proportionate to your your targets size while zooming. Great feature for mid- longer distances. Side turret for range-finding focus. The crosshairs are very fine and tiny at 3x and can barely be seen, but the excellent illumination solves that problem. Perhaps they have to be this fine tho because this can zoom all the way to 18x (WOW) and if they were larger at 3x, they may be too big at 18x. Regardless, the illumination solves it. At any higher magnifications its perfectly visible. Comes with a sunshade and throw-lever too!

I could be like a pro reviewer on this and write a ton, but what you need to know is that these people (swampfox) obviously care greatly about what they do, and they do it at a price that is half or less of comparable scopes. These make Vortex look like 2nd rate scopes. When these are better known, they will be able to hike their prices. Get it and you'll came back and thank me!!

This is a true duty grade optic. Phenomenal quality for the money, crystal clear glass all the way across, and a true 1x, unlike Vortex and Primary Arms. The illumination is perfect, and has off-positions after every level. The reticule is simple but has what you need and is not too busy. This is superior in every respect to Vortex and PA, unless you want to get a $1200 Vortex which at best will be marginally better. The eye box gets really small on 8x and you have to look just right, so a 10x is probably too much. You'll pay a couple hundred more than Vortex and PA but you get more than your money out of it.

Only con is the wieght.
