I mean….its ok

Written on Jul 19, 2026

I was looking for a 17” rail for my 18” barrel upper. I stumbled on these and figured for the price, why not give it a whirl. Install was easy but you could tell if was cheap. I also think the picatinny sections may be out of spec. They seem to be bigger than the standard. Overall, I guess it’s ok. It’s not good. It’s not bad. It’s somewhere in between. I only paid $50 for it so it’s not a big deal but I don’t think I’d buy again.

Meh. Its ok

I have a firearm that I really didn’t want to spend a lot (because the firearm itself was cheap), but I needed something. I searched around for something just to put on and I read to give these a try. I will say for a little about $50 it’s good. But value is the only thing it has going for it. The Qd mount blows. It wiggles and locks up pretty bad. You can get it off, but it’s almost fast to just take a tool to take on and off than trying to finesse this. Box didn’t come with a battery and the knobs are ok. For the money it works. However, unless you just needed something temporary, just save up and get something better.

Way Better than Expected

Written on Mar 31, 2026

Let me set the scene. I had an old Glock 17 gen 4 that has been roaming between the safe and the truck. It has a horrendous trigger and the rear sight is super banged up and nearly unusable. Not to mention a botched stipple job that I did years ago when I thought I could do it myself and actually make it look good. So needles to say I’ve been looking for something to “do” with it. Not worth it to sell and definitely not my go to pistol. So that’s where the MX1 comes in.
I’ve had my eye on this pretty much since they first came out. I was eyeing the micro roni originally but never pulled the trigger (pun intended). Then the MX1 came out and I liked the style way more but still couldn’t justify the purchase. Well at least until recently.
I picked this up on sale and it did not disappoint. It was way better than I expected. Since I had a Glock 17, I didn’t have to change any of the adapters so I could literally just pop it in. Now I was expecting some play because how could something that is meant for so many different size pistols be that universal? Well I can say it was snug as a bug. As long as you follow the instructions, you will be in good shape. So let’s break down some of the things I observed.
First off, it’s way sturdier than I thought. Fitment is fabulous and the stock/brace is rock solid. I thought it was going to be the weak point considering it’s mostly plastic but the metal core definitely keeps this bad boy “firm”. The full metal pic rail was also a nice touch

Solid trigger for the price

Written on Jan 23, 2026

There are a lot of people who say that this is just as good, if not better than Geissele. No it’s not. What it is, is a fantastic trigger for the price. I purchased this for a build that I had that didn’t care much for. Does it work? Yes. Is it better than milspes? Also yes. It’s a great upgrade from cheap triggers. Solid uptake, clean”ish” break. For sub $100 you can’t go wrong. Am I going to swap all my trigger out for this? No. But I will recommend to anyone on a budget looking for higher performance. I only went down one star because I do not care for the “hex” design. Many people love it but it’s awkward for how I pull and I think it’s kinda dumb looking. It looks like something someone would put on an AR with red furniture. But hey, it’s your rifle.

Great rail! Back to the classics.

Written on Dec 09, 2020

So I’ve been using mlok on most of my builds but I was trying to do a mk12 “style” build this time around. First of all, let’s talk about esthetics. MI has everything going for them. They are super easy to install, well constructed, and just look super good. Now let’s talk about the design. I went away from quad rails, like most people because of their bulk and weight. This is not the case with this. It still has all four rails but the inner diameter is super slender. More in line with how slimline mlok and keymod rails are. So because it’s slimline and they drilled tones of holes through the top rail, its super light. Like, super light. So if you are looking to go back to the classics but don’t want any of the cons, just get this rail.
