Does not work well with all "mil-spec" buffer tubes
Written on Feb 28, 2023
Review for
Magpul Industries PRS Lite Rifle Stock
This stock relies on your buffer tube extension ramp to stay solid. The problem is that there is variance in "mil-spec" buffer tube extension ramp dimensions. The result of this poor attachment design is that you have a gap that allows the stock to move forward and back, which you do not want in a fixed precision stock. I've also seen some people that end up grinding the bolt cage that rests against the extension ramp because their ramp was too far forward so the stock could not be secured without that modification.
You cannot tighten the bolt hard enough for friction to keep it in place, you will either strip the screw or snap the cap off.
I tried this on 2 different bog standard mil-spec buffer tubes and neither of them fits well. This will 100% NOT work well with an Aero Precision Enhanced buffer tube, that has a much different extension ramp design and that was the first buffer tube I had on before trying the 2 other mil-spec tubes.
Magpul customer service is entirely unhelpful. All they will tell you is that your tube isn't mil-spec and then ghost you. Their 100% satisfaction guaranteed is a lie.
Other than the fact that it doesn't do one of the major things it is supposed to do, precision, it's a decent stock. It's just a gamble if it will work with your buffer tube or not.

Too pricey for the lack of fit and finish
Written on Jan 10, 2022
I took a chance since it had all the features I wanted and was sorely disappointed. The biggest issue was fit and finish, there are very apparent trimming/sanding marks. The picatinny cover on mine had knife marks where they trimmed way too much material and then tried to I guess sand it but never made it past coarse grit. Another really bad spot was the polymer piece that holds the rubber butt pad, it simply looks like it was ground down with coarse sandpaper, or maybe it was dragged across cement. I understand there are bits of polymer that need removed after it's molded, but whatever they are doing isn't working. I have $30 magpul stocks that do not have these finish issues so I definitely expect a far more expensive stock to not have them. There is also either 2 different materials or 2 different textures being used on the stock. The cheek weld is the smooth-ish matte like magpul. The front though has a grippy texture like some gun grips use just not as aggressive. I wasn't a fan of the grippy texture but it's not a deal breaker, just something to keep in mind.
Functionally it works okay, but not great depending on how you want to use it. The front screw to reduce wobble will do that, but then it becomes very difficult to adjust the stock. Once deployed the buttpad was very solid. However when the buttpad is in the undeployed position, the top of the butt pad has a gap between it and the main body and is not solid since it's being held out by spring pressure. It's maybe
