Disappointed

Review for
ATN DNVM-6 Digital Night Vision Scope, 6x
The unit felt cheap to me when I first took it out of the box. There was also an uneven gap where the front lens unit connects to the frame. The real bummer was the image in the view finder. The view finder itself is so tiny that it becomes tedious to look through for any amount of time. The price was good but the extremely small viewing area was frustrating and taxing on the eye.

Poor image quality

Image quality left a lot to be desired--- very grainy and toy-like. It felt cheap in the hand as well, and in the end I returned it and decided to try out a Night Owl igen. I realize the limitations of a gen 1 unit but was hoping technology had made improvements beyond what I saw here.

Great Optic

Pulsar Apex XD38A Thermal Rifle Scope
Terrific optic and priced competitively. I was able to mount and sight it in no problem. Clear view in the different modes and very customizable. You can get lost in the menu selection but once you've gone though it a while you should have no problem. Little bit of noise comes from the unit when it's refreshing and since I have nothing else to compare it to, I assume all such thermal optics make some noise regarding the refresh rate. Overall happy with it so far.

Ok, but not for the price

I would have probably kept it if it was $20.00. Tiny view finder and more of a novelty. If I was getting a digital NV, I would opt for something bigger and more practical, like something from Bushnell.

Not what I was hoping for

Sightmark Patrol 2x24 Night Vision Monocular
I was very disappointed with this optic. I knew I was getting a Gen 1 and saw a youtube review that didn't look bad considering; however, I tried 2 different spectrum IR flashlights and the quality left a lot to be desired. If it's not a matter of life and death, and you do not need a NV optic immediately, I would save for a Gen 2+ or Gen 3.
