For HPR service rifle competition this scope is the bomb! Matched with a Geissele Superperformance mount it's rock solid and absolutely true. A remarkable change for these aging eyes from iron...I can see!!
This is my second Tango6. Bright, sharp and much easier to set zero than on my Schmidt Benders. Normally use a glass bubble to check cant but for low light conditions the lit arrows inside the tube are great! The MIL DEV-L is perfect for estimating target range and for those super long shots that exceed the dial rotation.
Have 3 TLR-2s and am more than satisfied. A red one sits on my home defense KSG shotgun and a green one on my wife's MPX-K-PSB. Different colors so we can clearly identify who's dot is whose. The other green is on my MPX carbine coach gun. First job in the dark is identifying friend or foe, easily done at self defense engagement ranges with that bright light!! If foe, second job is to then engage the threat. When zeroed for CQB, the lasers are never more than 1.5 inches off point of impact - much more accurate than aiming through a sight when adrenalin grabs me. On these three weapons the TLR-2 is easy to mount where the foregrip hand can control the light with a flick of the thumb. I must admit that while the red is quite adequate for CQB, the green is much easier to see with our very senior eyes.
Gives me a very comfortable hold for shooting and the power needed for racking the KSG. Besides, it really looks aggressive which is always helpful in convincing ne'er-do-wells of the error of their ways. I do have an EOTECH 552 mounted on the shotgun but often ignore it. Between this slightly angular foregrip and the pistol grip aft I find hits on target just as instinctual as the marketing description implies. And that angle ensures the meat of my hand doesn't get pinched against the trigger guard when racking. By adding HiTech's extended lower rail there's just enough room for for the foregrip and a Magpul handstop so my hand is less likely to wander out in front of the barking end. The construction is well worth the cost difference over Asian knock-offs.
The MantisX is easy to install and synch. I'm a senior who needs a 10-yr old for most of my electronics but was up and running in 10 minutes (including time to read the instructions). It must have a rail to attach to which limits which weapons it can play with. On a P229R dry firing it works as advertised, diagnosing my all-too errant trigger finger with the same ills my weekly coach has been harping on. At the range it's just as ruthless, recording every time my finger, grip, or wrists stray. But it also shows me that when I work on those things the errors decrease over the course of a range session. The only drawback? That memory - it remembers everything!!
