First off the product description here at OP needs work, I hope they change it soon. I contacted R&D Precision for more info prior to purchase and the owner replied within a day and told me some of what is written below. Some of this review comes from my own thoughts and experience with their product. The extractor is smaller than the standard M16 style extractor used by most companies for their blowback bolts. The smaller R&D extractor is inspired by the original Colt 9mm design and allows better support of the 45 auto cartridge as some of the upper bolt face rim doesn't have to be removed. With the 45 ACP bolt face cut, the bottom rim is removed for better feeding with the Glock 21 mags. This is the same design as the 45 ACP BCG's made by other brands and makes the upper rim area important in my opinion as there is not a lot of it to support the cartridge. The R&D 45 BCG at 14.6 oz, is about an ounce lighter than another popular 45 specific BCG. As long as an 11oz PCC specific buffer is used the small loss of bolt weight isn't a deal breaker. My current setup works best with a standard carbine flat wire spring and the 11oz buffer. Heavy rate buffer springs that are popular in some PCC AR's caused intermittent problems for me. This isn't the BCG's fault, it works efficiently with the proper weight buffer and a standard strength spring.

Its OK for the money. You will not mistake these for anything more expensive, but they will reduce the noise slightly. They are non adjustable but fit my head reasonably well. Not a horrible choice, but not as nice as the more expensive choices. Probably best for pistol caliber use.

I replaced another aftermarket handguard from Tapco with this SGM Tri-Rail. It was a big improvement. The plastic used from SGM feels very sturdy. Its a good quality part and it's recommended. I got mine on a closeout special here at Optics Planet

The feed ramps look very good on the barrel I purchased. The machine work is also very good. The 7.5" length ends up being bit shorter than I expected, when paired with a 7" handguard its actually ending just inside the handguard not a 1/2" out. I would have exchanged it for a 10" barrel of the same manufacture, but no returns on these clearance items. I will make it work by finding a long muzzle brake.
