Perfect BUIS...

Written on Mar 15, 2019

Very low profile. I think I read a review somewhere that the front sight wouldn't adjust. It's basically because they didn't follow the directions. Mine did the same thing (kept turning) until I read the manual (RTFM right?). I also read that the roller wheel/adjustments can be difficult to move... as well the sights being difficult to flip up. I oiled mine a little and just spent some time working the sight up and down, up and down... just like a gun - they needed to be broke in a little. The rear seemed fine already, the front was stiffer though. But now - they're both fine and getting better with time.

I primarily bought mine so I could have flip-up backup sights in case my EOTech didn't function as well as to be able to co-witness them (for POA/POI checks). Normally I keeep my BUIS flipped down.

Awesome eye relief, awesome clarity... and Samson's Warranty is #1

Written on Mar 15, 2019

I researched magnifiers quite a bit before buying the Samson to go behind an EOTech EXPS2. Was going to pull the trigger on an EOTech G33 magnifier but couldn't swallow the price tag that came with it. The Samson has an MSRP of $389 I believe, so Optic Planet's price is awesome, especially if you have a 10% coupon :-)

The clarity of the Samson is phenomenal (Japanese glass) and the eye relief is one of the better out there (2.6"). The mount it comes with (IMHO) is one of the best, only second to the EOTech G33 mount (my favorite). Samson's mount has an option riser included so it can work with plenty of RDS/HWS. As a side note, Samson actually manufactured the mounts EOTech used in their previous version magnifier, the G23. That mount is the same mount Samson now uses on their magnifier since EOTech now is using something slightly different on their G33.

What made my decision was 2 things. First was a review of the Samson vs the AimPoint I saw - the Samson shined (I've provided a link to the YouTube review below). The other deciding factor was Samson's warranty. I don't think I've come across a warranty statement quite like this before. Here is is, straight from their website: "At Samson, we stand firmly behind the quality of our products. If your Samson handguard, mount, sights or accessories don’t perform, we will repair or replace it for free. We don't ask for a proof of purchase or warranty card, we just make things right. We do this because we maintain the hi

Perfect size, great quality - very happy w/purchase!

Written on Mar 15, 2019

I order a bit of stuff from Optics Planet and their shipping and CS has always been great. This week I picked up this bag after searching for just the right size. I wanted to be able to put a couple handguns as well as my CZ Scorpion (9mm carbine w/folding stock) in the range bag. I couldn't be happier. The large middle/main compartment has a removable tote bag and my Scorpion fits nicely inside it and it even has an adjustable Velcro divider that I moved to snug right up against it so it's very secure and not moving all around. There's tons of room for other stuff. Fitting 4 more pistols would be no problem. Plenty of magazine storage and room for all your other range needs. I thought the size was perfect for my needs. The bag is very well padded and also has some removable pads you could set up on a shooting bench or work bench if you wanted. The exterior seems like good thick denier and straps/handle webbing run the full depth of the bag (very sturdy it appears). Time will tell, but I'm optimistic this was a great purchase!!
