Good for the Money
Written on Feb 23, 2022
I wrote an earlier review and was a little critical of the eye box/exit pupil. The criticism of the eye box is still valid in my opinion. I have used it in two different mounts, an Atibal quick detach standard height mount and a Midwest Industries 1.93” height mount. It definitely is preferable in the higher mount, but the higher mount is not best for prone shooting. Even on some of the lower magnifications it seems to be a little more difficult to get a full sight picture than most of my budget scopes and certainly more difficult than higher end scopes. At 1x it does seem to be true and it is okay for close quarters but not optimal. The scope did track well and it has an awesome reticle. I really enjoyed the reticle because it does not have just a center dot. It also has decent glass for the price point. The cross in the center seems to be a better aiming point for me. It has great illumination for midday shooting. It is a good option for a budget AR setup.

Little Things
Written on Jul 26, 2021
I have waited two years before giving this product a review. I have had the P7 mounted on a 458 Socom, 10mm PC, and now 5.56. Overall this is a decent optic, but the “little things” keep it from being a great optic. The first of which, an ever so slightly canted reticle, a finicky power on/off or mode button and the auto shut off. I pressed the power button to shut it off one day, then went back two days later and it had came back on. It was stuck at the lowest brightness setting and it didn’t make any sense because the auto shut off should have turned it off after two hours irregardless if I had inadvertently left it on. So, I went out and shot for a while and then turned it off, went back a week later and it was on the lowest setting again. The next time, the battery was dead. I changed batteries, and I do use lithium, same thing. Occasionally, it will operate as it should, turning Aside from the canted reticle and the powering issue, the reticle works well for me, I love the blue (very easy to see) and it has made a decent range optic. Passed the box test and tracking was fairly close. I did manage to shut it off a few times and the auto brightness function works well when the optic has actually powered off. In my opinion, it is a decent range optic, but not one I would have on a weapon for personal defense. I personally only recommend this for range use, but there are less expensive options that work just as well and possibly better quality.
