Front Dovetail Defect
Written on Feb 18, 2020
I ordered two sets of these sights for two pistols; Both were defected. The XD has notoriously tight dovetail and sights are supposed to be very difficult to press in/out. The stock sights were pressed out using a Sight-Tool, without hiccup. The Ameriglo front sight slid straight thru the dovetail from one side of the slide to the other with no resistance. I inspected the bottom to be sure it wasn't a customer return and possibly filed down. Appeared new and untouched. Possibly poor quality control on Ameriglo's part. For the second set, for an M&P Shield, one of the rear tritium viles was dead on arrival. Understandable as that can happen with any manufacturers tritium if they get banged up enough during handling and shipping; And they do use Trijicon tritium in their sight housings. It was just a let down that both sets were faulty and has me questioning Ameriglo's quality. I'll likely just spend they extra money and deal with the higher sight profile of Trijicon. I still have a set of Ameriglo Spartan's for a Glock on the way, so we will see how they fit and function.

One set DOA
Written on Feb 13, 2020
I ordered a couple sets of Ameriglo Spartan's for a couple different pistols. Neither are installed yet, but one set for an M&P Shield arrived with a rear sight tritium dead on arrival. This is to be expected from time to time, but I needed these sights installed for a trip next weekend. With the transit times and turnaround times from Optics Planet, it's not likely going to be installed for my trip.
