Quality Bag But Could Be Better

Browning Pure Bm Black/Gold Bag
The product description and photos of this bag are very limited, even on the Browning website, and I could not find any consumer reviews of this bag anywhere. Nonetheless, I took a gamble and purchased it as I wanted a logo bag to carry my Buck Mark pistol, eyes and ears, and ammo to the range. Typical of Browning products, the quality of the materials and workmanship is excellent. And the bag seems bigger than its specified dimensions. However, the design is lacking is a few important areas. First, there is no padding in any of the exterior zippered pockets, or in the interior of the bag, to carry and protect a pistol. For the price, the bag should have included a detachable pistol rug, or at least a padded interior or exterior pistol pocket. Second, there are no "bumpers" on the bottom of the bag to protect it from friction and wear, and over time I think the denier fabric will probably wear through where the bottom rubs on the ground. This could have been improved by stitching or riveting in rubber pads on the four bottom corners. Overall, I recommend this bag due to its quality build and volume, but if you are looking for a dedicated pistol range bag, this is not it.

Great Quality but Weird Design

Review for
Browning Alfa Range Black Bag
I like Browning products and have two Browning pistols - a 9mm Hi-Power and a .22 Buck Mark. So when I was looking for a new range bag, this one stood out. It is just about the right size, and as with other Browning products, the quality of the materials, fit and finish is excellent. However, the design includes an inner removable bag which entirely fills up the inside of the outer bag. The inner bag has separate handles and includes storage pockets for two pistols, and a central space for ear/eye protection. But, the inner bag pretty much takes up all the interior space of the outer bag. It's not clear if the user is supposed to carry the inner and outer bags separately, or keep them together. I really wanted to like this bag, but I just don't understand the complicated design for something that is supposed to be simple. In the end I returned it for a Cimarron Two-Pistol Range Bag which is much better for my needs.
