I should point out first that the one-armed brace function on this item is very effective and does exactly what it should.
Now if you simply had to shoulder this brace to protect yourself during exigent circumstances to protect your life, I'd venture to say that you'd be happier to do so with this brace, more than any others. It's also nicer to look at than something with a velcro strap hanging off it.
The adjustable feature isn't the smoothest, but it works just fine, I promise. What you're getting out of this brace in the long run goes far beyond the adjustability.
If you're constructing an AR pistol, this is the current go-to, imho. I'm not telling you to throw out your sba3 or maxim pdw brace if you're happy with them, but if you're building new, or simply cant stand looking at the velcro, spend the hundred and get this thing. If you got money to burn and enjoy the pdw's like I do, wait for the gear head KES to come around.

I have looked through and handled the Trijicon accupowers, accupoints, Vortex viper, Leupold VX-r, patrol, and this is the one that sticks out as the best all-around LPVO for the price point you can get it at.
Glass is clear, eye box is huge, eye relief is good.
The two things that make this optic an easy choice for me are the fact that it's as true a 1x zoom as you're gonna get, but more importantly, the reticle is just what you need, and nothing more. Many of the competing brands have gone in a direction that has generated extremely and unnecessarily busy reticles, and it kind of drives me crazy. I work in law enforcement and I have the luxury of participating with a few local tac teams. In an urban/suburban setting, you need your true one. The leupold 1.5x zoom just will not due imho. For hunting, an untrue 1x zoom would suffice, but not room clearing. Your eyes fight for dominance and you get two different meshing sight pictures. It's nice to have that boost to 4x with a nice easy throw of the lever, which steiner includes, and that is truly appreciated. When doing room clearing, you also don't need a glowing tree in the middle of your sight picture, like the always affordable vortex strike eagle. Maybe some people are really utilizing all these distance marks on their reticles AND getting quick target acquisition with their giant glowing horseshoe rings, but if it were up to me, I'd probably have a dot in the middle, and 3 lines coming toward the center, no top line co

The opmod is a solid and sturdy sight. For the price that I paid, it runs with any high-end red dot. Aimpoints and Trijicon MRO's are in the same tier as far as I'm concerned. All are dependable, but this may be the best bang for your buck. With a quick detach mount already included, you save money immediately. The reticle is the most clear of the ones that I own, and I really like the circle around the dot, personally. It's very crisp and not overbearing in the sight picture. With the second dot underneath the main one, you get have another reference usable for close range engagements. It's sturdy as heck and easy to sight in. The box sight picture is much larger than the typical tubes. It pairs with a vortex magnifier that I have better than my MRO or Aimpoint Pro. I found that really interesting, but these things are no joke. The only thing that would make this perfect is a shake-wake feature that turns it on when it moves. Otherwise, you have to do it yourself every time you go to use it.
