Relatively new entry into the long range day optic field so I had my misgivings of being an early adopter but OP had a kicking deal that was just too good to pass up. This optic replaced a Vortex 4-16 PST because I was looking for a little more magnification without sacrificing on the lower side. The 3-18 magnification optics fit the bill perfectly but as in everything there are trade offs.
First the cons, or, really just things you should be aware of. This is quite a long scope. About 2-3" longer overall than the Vortex it replaced. The eyepiece is also quite substantial with almost 4" of eye relief. The eye box is a little less forgiving but once you get used to it is not a big issue. The power ring is on the large diameter of the eyepiece. This will affect how you mount it and your ring height obviously. If you use the new whiz bang chassis stocks with their forty-eleven adjustments it's probably a non-issue but traditional stocks may require some planning. I clamped my rail mount into the mill and reduced the height on the back end to allow me to use 1) lower rings and 2) push the scope forward another half inch.
Weight is stout but no different than comparable optics.
The objective is threaded but as of yet there no anti-reflective devices or specific accessories available. I imagine that given Sig took the time to list this spec in their literature they are forthcoming.
