Great Optic/Exceptional Value

Written on Aug 05, 2021

This optic was recommended by a retired LE family member for my wife's POF Minuteman. I must say, it is a great optic with an exceptional dollar to value ratio. Snap shooting is extremely easy with the green reticle, the eye picking up the center of the pattern very quickly. The Bullet RISE Compensation marks are innovative and take only a short time to get used to. I have no problems using it with my dominant eye astigmatism. Do yourself a favor and read Swampfox's intro to the optic on their website. They are spot on in their description. I highly recommend the Blade to anyone looking for a great optic (that won't empty their wallet) for their home defense AR platform.

Long, Sad Story

Written on Mar 29, 2021

Purchased this to install on a POF P6.5 Edge with a Larue Mount. Experienced 2 MOA POI “jumps” in elevation at 200 yards every 6 or 7 rounds. Normal expectation was that the mount was moving on the rail but was verified to not be the case. Since I had been delayed mounting the optic on the rifle, I was now dealing with Sig directly for resolution. They swapped it out for a new one. Mounted on the same rifle with a different mount, a SWAT Sniper family member ran a ladder test at 50 yards on the combo. Between round 6 and 7 there was no elevation change, multiple times. Ladder test fail. Sig replaced the optic a second time. Fast forward to present and the THIRD optic is mounted on a Remington 700 5R .308 with a 20 inch barrel via Nightforce rings. This particular example has the same error experienced by the first one as verified by myself and my SWAT family member. Since Sig sent this one with the comment “you can do with this one as you wish” (I read this as don’t call back), I’m stuck with a poor example of what should be a great optic.

Mark AR Mount

Written on Sep 18, 2020

If you want a secure mount that WILL NOT not move due to recoil then get one. Absolutely the best mount for securing semi-permanent optics on MSR style rifles that have significant recoil. I once used one with a 36 oz optic on a POF 6.5 Edge - upon removing the kit, there were absolutely no witness marks on the mounting surface.
