I have added these binoculars to my kit along with the 10 x 42. The greater magnification makes it a little easier to pick up the smaller birds at a distance and the slightly reduced angle is immaterial. The clarity and ease of focus is a delight. They are not heavy and I have found that you can sit quite comfortably with them held up to your eyes for a fair period of time. I can highly recommend them to anyone thinking about using them for bird watching. Great product.
