I purchased these to replace the stock 3 dot sights on my S&W 5906 firearm. I am not a gunsmith and this task was not hard to nail it. I heated the front sight with a heating gun and then using a correct sized punch tapped it off paying attention to tapping just the base of the sight and not the slide. The rear screw must be unscrewed till the head snaps off . As you extract the head be careful of the micro sized spring and plunger that resides inside the adjustment screw head placing the rear sight into a zip lock bag will help recover these if you aren't careful enough. I used a dental pick on the opposite side to spin the screw out of the sight blade and then it is just reverse order with an additional step of center punching the rear screw's left side to lock the collar nut after it was seated as it was before the removal. Sights got a -1 star as no where I found a manufacture date. They glow nicely if your eyes are accustomed to the dark no light charging needed however after 12 years the glow is at half of its life ( if you know the manufactured date) Happy with the purchase regardless due to the crisp white outline of the sights.
