Well built, good looking and plenty of surface area to grab onto. Can't wait to get it installed. I will say it's pretty large, a bit bigger than expected. However that shouldn't be an issue. For its size it's light weight, and ther texture provides great grip.

The base is built very solid indeed, the only issue is that on a Rem 700 you will certainly have to bed the rear of the base. If weaver corrected this issue by making the rear slightly taller no bedding would be required and it would be an exact fit. Otherwise it is certainly one of the best products for the cost.
