Arrived with factory defect

Some gorilla at the factory installed the battery compartment cover tight enough I cannot remove it to take the protective seal off the installed battery. I have pretty strong fingers and cannot unscrew the cover. Sending it back to see if they can. From what I can see it looks nice and feels nice but I cannot comment on the functionality of all the features of the unit.

In my opinion this is a handy multi-pupose mount

Review for
Garmin Backpack Tether
This mount can be used for more than a back-pack tether which I'm sure it would be perfect for. Because the Garmin attachment clip that mounts to the back of the Dakota 20 has velcro connecting it to the mounting base, which also has velcro straps to mount to what ever you want to attach it to, you can use this mount for many things. You can reorient the mounting clip 90 degrees to the mounting base and use it for handle bar mount or extend the velcro straps and mount it to a roll bar. The uses are endless, you can even use it as intended and mount it to your back-pack. The The lanyard is also about the same diameter as 550 paracord so if it is not long enough for you, just make a longer one in your choice of color out of paracord.

Just the added protection the Dakota 20 needs.

This gel cover fits well and does not hinder the use of the on off switch. The cut out back allows you to attach the Dakota 20 to accessories with the gel cover in place. I could see where if I was not using mounting accessories where I may want a closed back. I paired this up with some nice screen covers and now my Dakota is armored. I also bought the "Back Pack" tether which I plan on using for a handle bar mount and roll bar mount. The gel seems adequately think enough to take a hit from a drop. My only complaint is that the box it comes packaged in is very heavy duty and well printed, Garmin could probably save $5 per unit by packaging them differently.
