Definitely a step up from milspec, especially if you are going to run an optic the added Lewiston makes charging the rifle much easier and faster.

I cannot say enough about these and how well they work. I have hearing trouble and tinnitus so when at the range and in competition with my over the ear ProHear I was having trouble hearing if I struck the long distance steel targets. I do not have that issue with these, I hear them ring out easily now. These also, to me, sound more realistic when on rather they make the noise carry through like you don't have them on and they muffle the shots but without muffling everything else. Where they are a bit louder is when shooting high power rifle under covered roof, they tend to let more noise in than I like so I do use my prohear there but for competition and outdoor shooting, these are my go to.
