enniphei otto maddox from United States, TX Public Profile
I bought this because of the angled attachment rings because they are superior to the strictly-oval variants but the QDM, security lock is a god-awful, "how on earth did this every leave R&D" mechanism.
When your QD socket is nested or recessed behind other structural components, it makes operating the QDM a freakin' task and a half. If you need to quickly and dexterously manipulate it for swapping from 1-to-2 or 2-to-1 sling config--GOOD LUCK!! You damm near need some needle-nose pliers to get the task done.
If the QD socket is on a completely flat-surface with no surrounding structural features--THIS COULD WORK WELL!
But when QD sockets are tucked under the buffer tube, on the end plate, or if it's actually nested under the cheekrest of a modular stock--the QDM quickly demonstrates its absolute misery of a failure to quality test.
I love magpul but the QDM needs to go back to the drawing board. The angled, sling hooks need to be the new standard for QD connection points though.
