Great looking fixed stock!

HERA Arms 1240 HRS AR-15 Polymer Black
Got this for a new 6.5 creedmoor build, and this part officially finished the lower. It looks awesome and has a way bigger storage compartment than the magpul moe rifle stock I have on my 6.5 grendel. Cheaper too, so I might be buying another one. I don’t have a single complaint about this stock, but a rubberized cheek rest would be a nice touch if I could offer any improvements. The length of pull seems to be just right for me, but I won’t be able to confirm that until I finish the build and take it out to some BLM land for long range practice.

Aero Precision .308 UPPER STRP FDE
I used a plain DPMS LR-308 style upper receiver for my first AR-10 (308) build and I don’t like it. It’s bulky and the forward assist sits in a really weird spot where it doesn’t engage the serrations and only pushes the bolt closed once it’s almost in battery. I’m starting a 6.5 creedmoor fixed stock build and I was not going to get another DPMS upper. This aero upper puts the forward assist in the right spot to hit the serrations on the bolt carrier. It also uses a screw instead of a roll pin which is really nice. It’s much less bulky with much better lines and looks great on my non aero lower. I think I’m going to have to rebuild my 308 upper with one of these and a better handguard, and maybe get a third for an 8.6blk upper.

Breek Arms AR-15 RG2-S MLOK Handguard
I bought the 6.7” handguard for a 7.5” 300 blackout pistol build. I had a hard time finding a high end handguard for the billet upper I used. Most premium handguards have anti-rotation tabs that only work with mil spec upper receivers. This handguard looks like it was made with billet uppers in mind because it lines up flawlessly and looks awesome. Along with the faxon gunner barrel and VG6 gamma 300 brake the completed upper looks amazing. The handguard is reasonably light but super beefy, with the aluminum being a full 1/8” thick and type 3 hardcoat anodized, and while the barrel nut isn’t fancy it works really well. The best part about this handguard is the wedge lock system. It makes it way easier to take off the handguard as opposed to a clamp or screw on handguard. I’m still waiting on some parts for the lower to come in so this build isn’t totally done, but it’s looking fantastic and in no small part thanks to this handguard.

Might not work in every upper but…

It works perfectly in mine. This build uses a slickside billet upper and this handle not only looks great but fits perfectly. I bought a rave 140 trigger for my 6.5 grendel build from optics planet and this charging handle was included for free. I prefer ambi or latchless charging handles but this one was just meant to be. I was skeptical that it would fit my upper well after reading so many reviews that it’s too tight, and it’s definitely snug, but I can rack it with no issues. Also I’m sure that after a while it will wear down and feel really smooth. It was free, and it’s 100% for sure staying on this build.

RISE Armament Rave 140 AR Drop-In Trigger
Unfortunately the build this trigger went into isn’t totally done yet. Still needs a barrel, handguard, dust cover, and gas system but everything else is built. Just playing with this trigger I can say I like it a lot more than the much more expensive Timney impact that I have in my .308 ar-10. This build is going to be a 6.5 grendel and I wanted a really nice lightweight, crisp single stage trigger for it. This one checks all the boxes and the price even exceeded my expectations. I’ve seen a lot of complaints about the free charging handle but the one I got works perfectly in the slickside billet upper I chose for this build. The only complaint I have is that the antiwalk pins suck. They’re a good 1/16” wider than my lower receiver so they do walk. They also have no anti rotation connector. Even if they don’t walk totally out of the lower they do wiggle and cause wear on the aluminum so those are getting swapped out for some proper KNS antiwalk/antirotation pins ASAP. I’m very happy about the trigger and the charging handle though, so I’ll forgive the crappy pins.
