Leupold Quality

Written on Jul 02, 2024

Purchased to use in conjunction with a Leupold Fx-II ultralight fixed power scope. Rings are minimalistic and lightweight, but also strong. I only used the rings as a mock up, so I cant speak towards durability. But first impressions were great, and I'd be surprised if they didnt last or perform well. Finish is nice, and I like the torx hardware that's included. They even supplied a torx key for those who may not have the tooling.

Great Firing Pin on a Budget

Written on Jul 02, 2024

Purchased the Trybe Defense firing pin at the same time as their 5.56 nickel boron bolt. Not much to say except it feels good and looks good. Shot 100 rds without problem and was able to clean it up afterwards easily due to its slick finish. I think the product is dependable and well worth the cost. I might just purchase more as spares.

Great Bolt For The Money

Written on Jul 02, 2024

Purchased for my first build while on a budget. First impressions it appeared to be built well and finish was nice. I disassembled the extractor and ejector to check head spacing with my Faxon barrel, and it passed fine. Extractor and ejector both appeared to be strong as well. I was a little bummed to find it not stamped that it was MPI, nor did it say anywhere in the packaging. Optics planet just claim that it is. Anyway, I ran 100 rounds with the bolt flawlessly. I chose to upgrade it later with a more reputable bolt that is stamped MPI (just to satisfy me). I keep this bolt on hand as a range spare. I believe this bolt will work just fine for the majority of people.

A must have tool

Written on Jul 02, 2024

I purchased this lower receiver block during my first AR build, and have continued using it for other builds and general maintenance. I have used it multiple times for setting roll pins in the gas block/tube, and while installing the bolt catch in the lower. It also comes in handy for disassembling the bolt extractor/ejector for cleaning and when properly checking headspace. I'm sure there are many other uses I'll find for it along the way. It's designed and built well. A must have tool for assembling AR's well. Only gripe I have is it fits loose in my lower's magazine well, causing it to slide off the magazine catch without even depressing it. Had to be extra cautious with hammering in roll pin for bolt catch.

Good, but wouldn't trust it

Written on Jul 02, 2024

The strike industies magazine release feels good and looks good. Installation was no problem and it functions as intended. However, I find the left side of the release to be too easy to actuate. Seriously, a bump on the side of the lower can drop the magazine. I chose to remove this magazine release from my home defense gun, and instead use it on a range / "fun" build. For that purpose it is great. But I will not trust my life on it. There are better options like FCD or JP for just a little more money.

Solid & Dependable

I've had this mount for almost two years now. I've had it mounted on a 12 gauge Mossberg 940 and two different 5.56 AR uppers. Its been a very secure platform for my FAB Defence 1" weapon light. Looks great and I trust it on a weapon that could be potentially used in defense. Only issue one may encounter is due to its offset design, it may interfere with whatever rail it is mounted on. I had to use a m-lok spacer for the Mossberg 940.
