Ok, we're not comparing this FireField optic to top of the line, or even scopes that are in the under a grand range. This is a less than 200 jojo'bidet near'about worthless Ameristan Rupees optic! For that deflated sum you'll be getting one heck of a deal, plus a solid 1913 Picatinny rail mount as well.
So, I've had this scope on an AR platform chambered in 300 AAC (Blk-Out) for the better part of a year now. It's held its zero without troubles of any sort and has rendered me some mighty fine service along the way! For any shootin'iron that don't need to push past 300 yards and your $$$ is in limited supply, well, this scope is surely recommended! It ain't the latest/greatest but at the price point it's a durnd fine bargain and it'll get the job done... Iff'in your expectations is reasonable, modest and realistic.
A truly extra fine AR-15 upper receiver, however, do be aware that this one does not fit properly in the "standard A1/A2 M4 vice block.
You will either need to purchase a dedicated Aero Precision M4E1 vice-block or get out the Dremel and modify your old vice-block. A minor nuisance, but a most unexpected annoyance durned for sure!
Mounted this "Firefield RapidStrike 1-6x24 SFP Rifle Scope" on an AR platform. Zeroing was only a matter of a very few clicks/shots. So far, after several magazines of fun sent down range, the scope has held zero perfectly! As other review's have stated the red/green illumination isn't useful for 12-O'clock full noon day sun. However, for just at early evening to dusk and in lower light situations the illuminated reticule is extremely advantageous! Again, if you are looking for an optic who's value is above it's budget price point then this one is recommended!
No worry's, no issues, works as it should and has kept the muzzle device snugly on the end of my 300 Black-Out barrel. For the fashion conscious you'll be very pleased to know that this crush washer (intended for use on a barrel with 5/8-24 threads) comes in your basic black which will likely match up perfectly with most muzzle devices now on the market. ;)
Okay, for a rock bottom budget priced complete upper receiver inclusive of a bolt carrier group and charging handle, this is one solid deal! A close shooting buddy and I purchased this Trybe upper and we both discovered that, at the ranges most suitable for using a 10-1/2" barreled pistol in 300 Blk-Out this is a very accurate shooting system! We saw group sizes out to 50 yards that were less than one MOA using both subsonic and supersonic ammo!
However, is it without some cost cutting compromises? Well, no, there are some aspects that may cause some to whine and moan. Like the way the free floated hand guard is attached... There are three screws that secure the hand guard to the barrel nut two of which provide a squeezing action, and one that cinches down on a groove in the barrel nut. This third screw causes the hand guard to deflect downward, unless it is tightened at no more than just touching the barrel nut. Both of our examples were out of alignment by almost 1/4" as delivered. Loosening all three screws and realigning the hand guard as well as the addition of a drop of low strength thread locker did put this problem right.
Additionally, you'll likely want to replace the semi-birdcage flash hider with a blast can of some sort (or a suppressor) as the concussion from some of the supersonic ammunition will very assuredly clear your sinuses and get everyone's immediate and unwanted attention at the range!
As to fit and finish, both of our uppers were very snug when ma
