Exman-1040 from United States, FL Public Profile

I posted a previous review on this barrel and now i have an update. I contacted Lothar Walther in Georgia and they sent me a return label to return my barrel even after 1.5 years after my initial purchase date(was busy doing other builds) and replaced it with a brand new barrel. I installed the new barrel and took all of my previous loads that the original barrel would not group with to try. This new barrels shots lights out with everything i tested except Wolf steel case ammo. I shot 3 shot groups to conserve ammo and get a general reference. Federal Gold Medal Match 175 BTHP was the best at slightly under half an inch followed by IMI 175 BTHP slightly over .5 inches , and finally Hornady ELD Match 168 just under .75 inch group. I have more to try since that test but i am very pleased. The barrel holds groups well even when warm and the finish was excellent. I had no problems with the gas block or gas port being under sized. I used the Superlative Arms. 875 adjustable gas block with set screw along with the Aero Precision enhanced 15" handguard with plenty of clearance inside. Great customer service and they stand behind their products.

This Strike industries extended bolt catch is the second one that i own. The product came over packaged and in perfect shape. The quality of fit and finish is without flaws of any kind. There are no burs or blemishes on my product. The Strike Industries extended bolt catch comes with the spring,plunger and a roll pin. It all fit into my Aero precision lower perfectly and doesn't interfere with any other functions. It is easy to manipulate due to an wider interface for bolt release instead of the milspec version and makes it harder to miss when time is off the essence. Great product for my use. I only wish this would have fit on my Aero precision m5 lower but the walls of the upper protrude out too far.

This barrel will only shoot one load/type of ammo out of 8 different factory ammo. I do handload but haven't t r ied any yet because i wanted to see what this barrel would do with factory since it's hard to find reloading components at this time without spening lots of money. This barrel only liked the Hornady eld 168gr.match ammo and everything else was 2.5 to 3.5 inch group from 100 yards shooting off a bipod.
