The product I bought is for the new Ruger LCP II. It works great - it activates when you remove it from the included holster, turns off when you return it to the holster. If you don't like that feature, there is a button you can use to turn it on and off. I thought I would not like this at the range as I always turn off the laser between re-loads, but have found that it is no problem: just return the gun to the holster while you reload the magazine.
I have had problems with other lasers turning off due to recoil. No problem here. Also, green is worth the extra money as it is much easier to see, even in brighter light situations.

This laser is light, easy to set up and adjust, and dependable. It is designed to fit on the rail of the popular compact semi-auto pistols. However, I use it on my new Ruger Mark IV competition .22 target pistol. It was virtually spot-on right out of the box, and needed only a small tweak to make it perfect.
