When I got the unit, the sight had clearly been mounted on a rail and a had several small dings and other scratches on the bottom and lower sides. However, the magnifier looked pristine. I almost kept the unit but then again at this price, I think a new unused unit is in order. Optics Planet gave me a RMA no questions asked and I shipped the unit back next day after receiving it. It's still in transit as I write this so we'll see how it goes from here.

I seriously doubt the sight left EOTech in that condition. David from Optics Planet customer service send me this reply "The item you received is in the condition we received it from the manufacturer. We do not sell used units as new. Additionally, nobody returned that item to us who have previously purchased it from us." Yeah right....David...not buying that one.

All that said this was the first EOTech product I'd held and it appears very well made and super solid. Clearly the military knows good stuff when they see it. I'm anxious to mount a NEW UNUSED one and test it out. I'll upgrade my review once I get a replacement unit in 10-14 days or longer to see what kind of shape it comes in.
