Great Value

Written on Aug 16, 2019

For the price, this is a winner. Well made, nice fit and finish. The brace to buffer tube fit is not bad at all. Same feel as my factory Colt (carbine) CAR-15. Read some reviews about people tinkering with it to make it fit snug. Adding tape, Velcro, etc.. Not needed and not a good idea. BATFE approved it to be used as a BRACE as is... If you are doing some crazy once in a lifetime build, you may want to spend a little more. If you are building an everyday shooter this will do anything you need. Knowing the buffer, spring, etc are matched and will fit is an added bonus.

NOT Cheap, but well woth it.

Written on Oct 12, 2018

I received the exact light pictured. Surefire is expensive, but also the very best. Used by military and LE around the world. It will withstand a lifetime of anything the user encounters. Fit and finish was excellent. Surefire provides the tool to remove the old forend and install this one. For the Mossberg line, all you need to supply is a small punch. Was a 5 min job to put it on my 590 Shockwave. It is a flamethrower of pure white light. Not sure about battery life (still on the original set) , especially a 600L output, but if you can afford a 350.00 light, its a safe bet you can afford a few batteries. Adds some weight and a little bulk, but its not a bad thing on the little Shockwave shooting buck/slugs.

Well worth the $$$ Easy install

Written on Sep 25, 2018

Super easy install. All you need is a set of SAE/US Allen wrenches. A bit of thread locker is optional. I went slow, read the directions, and de- greased all the surfaces as I went. Still took all of 5min or less.It is well made. Can feel the quality. It fit w/o any tinkering. I am not one to skirt firearms laws, but ATFE has given this the green light. Even to be fired from the shoulder. Is as good as any SBS w/o the 200.00 stamp, need to let ATFE enter your home to inspect it or need to file paperwork if you travel with it. Be sure to check local laws. The Shockwave is not welcome in a few states and cities.

BUDGET MODEL BUT SAME QUALITY AS OTHER MODLES

Written on Apr 25, 2018

This is basically the POR w/o the lens covers and a mount you need a socket to install. The mount is as sturdy as most will ever need. Is is also sleeker. The PRO has a big knob that sticks out on the side and snags on things. I mounted it on a Tavar SAR that is my 24/7 "house gun". Thus, have no need for lens covers. A very good value at any price. Battery life, at just over a year, is only slight issue. But easy to get over for the price.

I replaced the strap

Written on May 28, 2017

After using it for a few weeks, and warmer weather arriving, I realized that the Band (strap to be more correct)traps heat and moisture. It started to cause a minor irritation of the skin under the band. I order a Zulu/Maratac 24mm nylon strap for it from Amazon.com. It also comes with extra heavy duty spring bars. Was all of about 13.00 delivered. Was easy to install and made a huge improvement. It has a greater range of adjustment, is a lot cooler/fast drying and cut the overall bulk of the watch. The reduced bulk (stock strap is very good quality, but bulky and not real breathable)was a real unexpected gain. If you missed my review of the actual watch, I will just say 5 stars. Surefire quality and performance. The high speed operator, concealed carry person or urban commando will all appreciate the utility of this watch.

A bit Bulky, but AMAZING quality

Written on May 08, 2017

It is a bit bulky, not an everyday watch, but just the ticket if you need a lot of light. I recently took a vacation that I needed to lawfully carry a pistol deeply concealed. A Glock 43 and a Smith Pro Series J-Frame made the trip. We would be out a lot at night, walking in a semi high tourist crime area. The watch allowed me to have a lot of light available if I needed to go to guns. It was also very handy on a 0300 fishing charter. If you need to carry a handgun without the ability to mount a light, this is a reasonable work-around.. Good quality, huge battery life too..

Good Price, top quality..

The laser grip fit my wife's 351PD (.22 Mag) perfect. It was dead on at 15 yards. We put about 200 rds through her 351 after I installed the laser grip. It performed well. After two branches of the armed forces and three law enforcement agencies over my 49 years, I was always a "(iron) sighted fire only" guy when using a handgun. I began a casual study of the pistol/grip mounted laser after taking up mountain biking. Having been chased by a dog or two, I started to see the possible benefit of being able to accurately/safely deliver fire when I was unable to acquire a traditional sigh picture. The curiosity intensified after my lovely wife announced she wanted to obtain her concealed carry license. My wife has always been pro responsible gun ownership, but never had the desire to be a student of gun. Now, after quality training, she can now demonstrated acceptable accuracy using the iron sights, and is able to hit what she aims at when delivering sighted fire. As we all know, perfect performance on a square range is not a any true measure of real-world performance. I took the plunge and ordered her the #1870 to augment her sighting options. She took to it like a fish to water. Her speed and confidence improved. I truly believe the laser grip gives her an edge verses iron sights only. I am now sold on lasers and the quality of Crimson Trace products.

Good Value, Is a quality item at a good price

Mounted it on a 30-30 that will be a "Camp Gun" to fend off small black Bears, 2 legged predators, Etc.. Had a zero in about 4 shots. It holds the zero too. Will order another. Oh, saw reports of issues with the battery cover/cap. No issues on my unit. Just need to take care to line up the threads and it closed up/sealed just fine..
