Yeah, OP, I have no idea where you get the 17.5 ounce weight for these. TruGlo lists it at 28 ounces. This thing must be made of heavier aluminum than I'm used to. Did not mount it to a rifle. In the package, it felt like it weighed more. I was surprised it was under two pounds. If you're putting it on a tank barrel, no problem but I cannot see using this on an AR-15 platform.
