Disappointed

I was searching for a high visibility front sight for my Redhawk, and thought I had found one with this item. I am sorry to say that it is not well-named, because it is more difficult to see than the factory insert I replaced with it. It does not gather light like one would expect from a fiber optic sight. I can still see the sight, but I found that it is no more visible than a regular front sight. My suggestion to those who are looking for something like this is that you keep looking.

Fun and handy

While this is not as sophisticated as the more expensive night vision optics out there, it IS very handy. One can use this when just scanning around to see what is what out there at night. It is compact, so that it doesn't take up any real space at all, and is really easy to just tote around in one's pocket. I thought the price was reasonable too. It is important that one does not expect it to perform like a high end night vision optic. This is not a negative thing, just be aware.

Handy and light

This ARD was my first one. I'm used to using the metal shade tubes. The shade tubes are, in their own right, very effective and handy, but they add more length to the over-all scope size than I like. This ARD is short, very light, excellent quality ( typical of Leupold) and very effective. I get the functional benefit while eliminating a longer appendage on my scope. I do believe they are a little pricey, though. All-in-all, I am very pleased with it.

Review for
Leupold Alumina Flipback Lens Cover
Leupold consistently produces excellent quality products, and this is no exception. The fit, finish and quality of this eyepiece cover is top of the line as far as I'm concerned. I had no trouble fitting it to my scope's eyepiece, and the Flipback feature functions flawlessly.
Leupold does it again

I bought this scope for several reasons.
1) Leupold is made in America
2) Leupold quality is second to none
3) I already own and use other Leupold scopes
4) This one was deigned to enhance low light conditions
This scope does not disappoint. I have not yet mounted it on the rifle I bought it for, because the rifle is still being built. That being said, I have looked through this scope and it reinforced my already high opinion of Leupold optics. The clarity and light gathering of this scope is excellent. I can't wait to get it on my new rifle.
Leupold people are really great to interact with. They are friendly, courteous, professional and very customer focused. That coupled with their lifetime guarantee (and they ARE good to their word) is why I do not hesitate to recommend this scope to others.
