I purchased a set of these in anticipation of a Glock purchase. By the time I got the Glock the return period for this product was past and only after installing them did I find out that the front sight pod was already dead. Most likely rare for a Trijicon sight but it happens so check them immediately after receiving them to make sure they're still good because there can be manufacturing issues.
I've never had issues with Ameriglo sights (maybe just luck) and after using both for a while I actually prefer them over Trijicons. Seem brighter and are slightly cheaper.
Modification to my earlier review. Great addition for the SB brace but you need to get the right buffer or it will break your charging handle. I used my stock buffer on my LWRC PSD and after a couple dozen rounds with 55gr ball ammo, a flange on my charging handle broke apparently due to overtravel. Put the extra money in to buy the set instead of just the tube as your stock pistol buffer may not be the right length for the tube.
Super easy to swap out with my regular AR pistol buffer tube. It also extends the back out and has a stop ring so that the SB brace fits perfectly flush in the back and extends the length perfectly.
Fit is a perfect press fit too. Tight enough it takes a bit of effort to put it on and keep it in place but not impossibly tight so install isn't a problem.
Fit and finish is good as it's a Magpul product. Super easy to install on a carbine buffer tube so you don't have to swap out tubes to an A2 or A1.
I live in communist CA and will eventually leave the state so didn't want to spend too much on defeaturing my rifles. Perfect that it's inexpensive and you can keep the carbine tube on there.
The only thing I wish they offered in addition to this is a longer offset coupler so that you can extend the length of the stock out a bit longer. It's not a problem if you run a red dot but if you have a 1-6x or other scope eye relief is a problem when going prone even with a plate carrier on which extends you out about an inch. If you use a really cantilevered scope mount maybe you'll barely get there but still not sure.
Aluminum so very solid feel. I have it mounted on my SCAR 17S which tends to rattle things loose and this feels like it'll be fine. The adjustable height is a plus. I have it full length but still feel that holding it as a hand stop gives me more control over the rifle instead of a broomstick grip. I always used the angled foregrips before because I have a thumb over grip but I may go for these more now. Something about how my hand fits into the neck that sits well.
