Sidewinder vs Sidewinder Tactical

Written on Dec 09, 2014

Nice strong , well built scope. Fine crosshair line, smooth Magnification. DESCENT glass... I only shot my rifle twice with this new scope. And both occasions weren't good days, one the sun was just setting behind my target, and the other was raining. I'm a little disappointed with the glass. Well, maybe its the 42mm tube vs the 56mm on my Sidewinder (non tactical). My Sidewinder 56mm can use max mag and the glass will still be VERY clear. My Tactical, I can't pass 20X without the glass starting the get "glassy". It also seems that is more sensitive to the angle that the sun light go through the scope.
Based on my OWN two, I give to the non Tactical. The Tactical is supposed to be stronger, but I can't tell which one is. They both look very much alike.
It is still a very good glass for the money. I really like Hawke Optics, I have several. I'm a loyal costumer. Because the have good products and an OUTSDANDING Costumer Service.
I'll play with it some more. I haven't had a chance to try the tracking on the torrents, it should be as good as the other SW.
I still recommend both, but in my scopes the non Tactical is the winner.
