Brilliant option for an affordable upgrade over mil-spec

Written on Feb 13, 2025

First stage is empty travel but pretty light. Second stage is a light wall with a very light break. Honestly, pretty solid overall. I'd prefer the combined 4.5lb pull to be distributed a little differently (maybe 1.5 - 2lb 1st stage, 2.5 - 3lb 2nd stage) as the 2nd stage feels a little too easy to break if you're holding the wall, though I'm sure I'll get used to it with more practice. The Reset is astoundingly positive, the travel to the wall afterwards could be better but isn't bad by any means.

I'm basically wishing it was a little closer to a stock Walther PDP trigger (my everyday carry which I'm very used to, though this one does have a much more positive reset), but this thing is absolutely better than your average mil-spec trigger or similar budget option and I don't regret buying it at all.

Yup. They're definitely a Spring and a Detent.

Bolt Catch manufacturers are dumdums and don't always include these. Maybe snag more than 1 of these packs in case of a future build, or if ya lose one of em when swapping a part.

Dang, this thing's slick.

First thing I noticed was that it had a nice weight to it. Only other charging handle I've used was basically a mil-spec and is super light, the Raptor feels like what that one should've. No noticeable difference between right and wrong handed usage, feels good on either side. The "wings" being what unlocks/releases it instead of an annoying little blade on the left side is such a nice change.
