Accurate, Light, and Strong

Can't say enough good about this Faxon Firearms 9mm Rifle Barrel. I got the 8.5" barrel to replace the PSA Gen 4 upper/barrel because I really needed a 1/2x28 thread to fit the VG6 Muzzle Break that I truly wanted on my pistol. Rather than buying a thread adapter for $75, why not just upgrade the entire barrel for $106 and I'm so glad that I did. The weight decrease is significantly noticeable. It feels to be about 2.5oz lighter but when you actually put it on the pistol and hold it up, it's feels 2# lighter because it's more maneuverable.
Accuracy is 100% and didn't change after 500 rounds. Went out with 3 buddies to zero in and shoot some guns and this was the crowd favorite against other AR9's. The comments were "smooth and accurate, feels like cheating"

8.5" Pencil Light Barrel
Written on Mar 24, 2020
I was pleasantly surprised how light this barrel was compared to the PSA Gen4 8" 9mm stock barrel it came with. I haven't shot any rounds through it yet but I suspect from Faxon's reputation and reviews that it's going to be more accurate. I can only tell you that the mobility, balance, and feel of the AR9 is dramatically changed for the better. It's like an unsprung weight upgrade. The reason why I changed the barrel is because the Faxon is 1x28 thread which is typical for AR styles and my PSA Gen4 9mm came with a 1x32 thread and did not fit the VG6 Muzzle I had in mind. So I decided to change out the barrel for the VG6 Muzzle break and thought I might as well upgrade the barrel while I'm at it. I'm very happy with the weight and balance of the AR9. I'll let you know how it fires and it's accuracy if there are any negatives... My only concern is how durable it is with rapid fire and multiple consecutive rounds as I hear that pencil barrels heat up more than stock but from the reviews I've seen online, it may not be an issue. Stay tuned...
