I have the Aimtech mount installed on two Kimbers (9mm Stainless-Target & a 45ACP Gold-Match-II). It is a very well-made, precision item. You couldn't ask for better fit and finish. I would rate the installation process as medium-difficult for a novice. If you already know how to replace a sear-spring in a 1911, installation is a snap! The enclosed instructions are a good guide, a few steps that would make them complete, are missing. If you have a Ambi-Safety, it must be removed. No extra parts are needed. The only down-side of the installation (for me) is that I can't remove the slide when the mount is installed. Both of my Kimbers have the large, adjustable rear sights. The upper, right-hand corner of the sight strikes the mount and prevents slide removal. I think that lower, non-adjustable sights would not be a problem.
