IMO the best light option for Shockwave

Written on May 20, 2021

I purchased this item with some prior knowledge as a buddy had it installed on his shockwave. For a gun for home defense and cqb, I wanted a clean look and minimal snag points. The surefire option is awkward and mount options could be snagged or broken off. This combines the foreend with a light, with ergonomic access to the power buttons. The light is bright enough to blind an intruder. The texture and added dip in the forend helps index and also gives an added place to ensure your hand won't slide off. This combined with the strap makes it a clear upgrade to the factory forend. I own several streamlight products. Quality wise I have found they are just as good as surefire. It doesn't make sense to pay a premium simply because a company has a government contract. This has been torture tested along with my other lights, as I do high level firearms training. Zero complaints.

Not SXP compatible

Written on May 07, 2021

Too bad I can't attach a picture. It is comical the angle this stock would've been installed at if I had out it together. The supplied adapters do not line up with the Winchester sxp. There would've also been a large gap veteran the receiver and the pistol grip adapter. Looking over the instructions the quality of the item is also questionable. I'll likely look for an adapter to be able to use any AR stock.

A good beginners selection.

I've owned this plate carrier for over a year now. Over the last year as my training has advanced, I've realized some issues with it. Not from a quality stand point per say. So first off. I've lost 40lbs in the last year in doing do I've had to adjust the carrier. For a proper fit, I've had to install new grommets on the sizing straps for the shoulders. The carrier normally sits too low for my frame. (6ft, 175 currently) The carrier holds level 4 plates just fine. The kangaroo pouch up front is great and you can pick up a 3 mag pouch that fits directly inside for a low profile. The carrier currently holds approx 20lbs of plates, magazines, and other gear and has done fine. I've experienced no failures over the last year of vigorous training, from crawling in the mud. To high speed movement drills. The quick.release is a nice feature but can be frustrating to put back together. The current adjustment makes it difficult to actually don the carrier due to a decreased head opening to get the plates to sit at the proper level on my body. I've beat this carrier up and when I replace it soon. I'll Gladly have it as a backup.

A budget friendly and effective hand stop

I purchased this item for an AR pistol that I wanted a minimalist approach for. I ended up liking the ergonomics and easy indexing this offers that every rifle I own now rocks one. Recoil mitigation isn't a huge concern with the 5.56 round so a foregrip is too much. The chunky and magpul style angled grill didn't do it for me either. This little device allows me to install far out towards the end of the firearm for maximum control of the barrel and is easy and quick to index after swapping positions or mag changes. The best part is I get to keep my fingers.

Ok, chalking it to demo

I had failure to fire after about 300 rounds using rhis bcg. After pulling apart the bolt carrier group, i found the firing pin spring had compressed and broken off towards the end.
Ordering a new spring and will see how it goes
