GFS from United States, AL Public Profile

First of all, this stock adapter works exactly as advertised. It's good quality and let's you fold your AR platform to fit in a smaller space to carry. I used one that was pre-installed on a 9mm AR with a 5" barrel and it's perfect for folding up and throwing in a backpack. I decided to buy one to build a 556 lower. As expected, it adds some length and weight. It was very easy to install but a few things to consider. You'll need a second castle nut. It comes with the one pictured for the side that mates up to your lower. It doesn't come with with the castle nut that goes on the buffer tube side, so you'll need that if you are doing a new build. You'll also need a thin castle nut wrench to tighten the receiver end, there isn't much room to use a heavy duty one. Next thing to consider, the buffer retainer set screw on the buffer tube side is pretty small. If you take it out, remember that spring is under a good bit of tension and will go flying if your not paying attention..you can probably figure out how I know. Last, and I probably should have figured this out, but you need to use the BCG extension for this to work so you pretty much need to go with the traditional buffer and spring. I bought an Armaspec stealth recoil spring that I planned to use on this build and quickly realized that wasn't going to work with this device.

This Holosun HM3X works great with HS510 that has become my go to red dot. It operates easily with a simple flip to the side. It's low profile and has excellent eye relief and clarity. I like it much better than the sight mark magnifier that I originally purchased.

These pins were much easier to install than standard trigger pins. The bullet shaped guide help easily align everything which is a big help if you've ever installed a FOSTEC ECHO trigger than you need to hold together with one hand until it seats into the lower. These worked great with the Echo trigger group.

Very disappointed in the quality of this kit. The pivot pin was unusable, it was either oversized or not round. It was nearly impossible to install and took a punch to back out. I replaced with a spare Palmetto State pivot pin that fit perfectly. The springs seem to also be poor quality compared to other parts kits that I've used. I did not use the fire control group so I can't comment. I would pass on this if you are looking for a quality kit that goes together easily.

I recently purchased an AK based on the Palmetto State rifle. The gentleman I purchased the AK from recommend the midwest industries QD mount, but it was significantly more expensive. I've had great experience with optics planet, so I thought I would give this a try. It fits like a glove and seems firm and secure. While it's a little difficult, you can see the front sight post through the bottom of the rail. The rail notch is essentially your rear sight.

I've used this kit for 3 AR builds so far and it is excellent. The pivot pin tool makes that process simple. Excellent quality and well organized. The punches are good quality and the proper size for just about everything. One punch is milled down on the side to give you proper clearance to install the bolt catch without hammering close to your lower. The block is useful for many functions, but I've found it works best to install the trigger guard first.
