Solid mount

Written on May 04, 2025

My 3rd one of these and they RTZ perfect as long as you do it the same every time. I have a ritual tightening the front to back not all they way at first but gradually, and then finally torquing down to spec with a in-lb drive, and LOL at some of the goofs here who are complaining about the color for their safe queens.

Very poor machining.

Written on Jan 11, 2023

Like another reviewer stated the machining is very iffy with this mount. There were burrs inside the rings where if I didn't see them before mounting would of put small indents on my optic tube. Just setting the tube into the rings was rough and you could feel the resistance as you set it in the rings. It's felt like you were putting you scope in with sandpaper in the rings.

Put a gauge in the rings and it didn't line up so that was bad too.

This is the 3rd one I tried that was like this. I thought maybe I just got a bad one with all the positive reviews here.

Nope I would not recommend this mount.

Poor machining

Written on Oct 23, 2020

Very poorly machined and a PITA to level an optic in it due to the out of round rings and the lower mounting screws that come up through the bottom of the rings. You have to take the mount on and off your rifle, or mounting platform several times to get them level because of the stupid bottom ring screws. Took me 45 minutes to an hour to mount each one of these. Griffin claims these mounts are so precise that they will never leave ring marks on your scope but I can tell you through my 2 samples that they are rough finished and they will scuff up the tube pretty bad right down to the metal in some spots. I only torqued my rings to 18" lbs. When I took off the mount I could literally see where the rings were contacting the tube and where they weren't. I have had all kinds of mounts and these are the worst I have ever used. They are just a poor attempt to copy the SPUHR mount. Never again!!

Excellent Value

Written on Nov 13, 2019

I've had this optic for a few range sessions now and I am really impressed with it. It is Well above its price point as far as turret tracking and glass clarity edge-to-edge. I've owned a couple of high-end night forces and some MK 6 Leupold scopes and I tell you the turret clicks and glass Clarity of the GLx4 are nipping at the heels of those.

You can feel each click of the turrets are positive being they are steel on steel and not brass on brass which means they should last a lifetime and track true for a lifetime.

I liked it so much I bought another!!
