compketes the SPARC AR

Written on Feb 14, 2024

Grab this mount to complete the Vortex Sparc AR. It lets the optic sit at the lower 1/3 without any shims. The only con I had was that no screws were included in the package. Almost every other Midwest Industries optic mount I’ve purchased in the past came with screws and some even had extras (short and tall). You’ll have to reuse the factory screws (tall ones) that came with the sight, so make sure you have those before making your purchase. This mount also works for the Truglo ignite mini red dot sight. However it will only be a low mount. Overall this mount is worth every penny. It returns to zero after every removal and survived the recoil of my PCC’s and a few rounds from my 308 (for testing). If you grab a Vortex Sparc AR for cheap, getting this mount right after is a no brainer it makes it look awesome and it fits perfectly.

completes the 510c

Written on Feb 11, 2024

I got this mount on all my HS510c optics. It provides a stronger lock up on the rail and looks better than the stock qd mount. Grab one and try it out, especially if you get a 510c on sale for $250 or less (check out Simmons sporting goods). The tactical lever is the best option for this mount over the standard. The extra lip provides the room you’ll need to release the mount from the locked position. The standard lever sits too high under the optic and makes releasing an obstacle course.

Ammo is Fine Like AK

Written on Apr 26, 2023

Wolf works. Buy it, shoot it, restock it. Simple. The packaging was well done and the shipment was super fast and free! No complaints. If this ammo doesn’t work in your AK, then your AK is not AK. I shoot mine through a PSA AK103 variant with not problems. Easy to load in magazines and has no oil/grease present. I don’t see why you wouldn’t buy this. It’s cheap and works.

Goes well with wolf grey furniture

Written on Mar 04, 2023

It’s a 510c and at this point in the optics history everyone knows it’s a great optic. Nothing different here except for the color. The Cerakote is well done and matches my Wolf Grey build nicely. I’m running B5 buttstock and pistol grip with some manta defense rail covers. The optic was the icing on the grey beauty. I hope they make a OD Green version soon . I got this on sale so only buy if you need the grey color and the OPMOD warranty, otherwise if you can get a black/fde one for cheaper get one of those instead.

Decent Red Dot

Written on Sep 20, 2021

This red dot brings nothing new to the market, however it brings simplicity, which is always a good thing. For example, it uses a AAA battery which can be found literally anywhere. So it’s great to have at least one optic in our line up that has this feature, especially at a price that’s affordable.

It doesn’t have the current market standards and trends such as auto on/off, solar panels, auto brightness features etc. But it provides a 2 MOA dot, decent glass, clear red dot with an emitter that doesn’t protrudes too much into the sight picture.

Other than that, that’s pretty much all you get, just an average red dot optic. The mount that comes standard is awful, so changing that to a duty grade mount in my opinion is mandatory, should you use this optic on a defensive weapon.

The mount flew off after my first range session, but after I swapped it out for a Midwest Industries t1 mount, I fired 2,300 rounds of 556 and maintained zero.

If you want an optic thats affordable, uses AAA batteries and accepts one
of the most common mounting options available. Grab one of these as a backup, it won’t hurt the bank.
