If you are purchasing this for a child's toy then you might just accidentally think it acceptable, but if you want something that is more than a toy look elsewhere. I wasn't caught off guard because I read all the information before I ordered but even then I couldn't believe what arrived at my door. I had ordered this for my son to play with but he has even called it useless. A small kid in a sandbox should like it though. I have always been well satisfied with everything that I ordered from Optics Planet and should have known this to be no more than Chinese junk when I ordered it but I really thought my son could have at least found it to be an adequate toy. But, I was wrong! Because it was so cheap I didn't bother to send it back.
Optics Planet has always been great to me so I'm not gonna hold this one against them. Don't bother with this at all. I would not recommend this to anyone and certainly would NOT buy it again.

Once you get to a certain level of optic quality the price that you pay goes up tremendously for each incremental gain. Its my opinion that the Leupold VX3i series of scopes has reached that benchmark. Can you buy better scopes than the VX3i? Absolutely! You can even get them from Leupold. I've worked blue collar jobs most of my life and most of the time I had scrape around for this series of scopes from Leupold. But I have always been more than satisfied with the end result. I've tried less expensive scopes before when the money just wasn't there but sooner or later they were always replaced with a Leupold anyway. Finally I quit buying the other stuff and just used that money as a start on the Leupold I wanted to begin with. I have owned just a couple of this particular magnification bhgut like the rest it's a great deal for the money! But they are not just about the quaity of the lenses it's the whole package; they are indeed sharp crystal clear images, they are rugged, the adjustmentsgu; gg are true and repeatable and if you do have issues the warranty is truly lifetime. And to wrap this up, they are made right here in the greatest nation on earth--- the United States of America!
