Great bullet...but I want to give you a tip

Written on Aug 13, 2020

Great bullet...as always. .404 MOA out of a $500 Savage .308 FP-10. But I write to give you a small piece of advice. I just had to make a few dummy rounds while adjusting a press. When I was done, I used an impact hammer style bullet puller to separate the bullets from the brass. The green tips on all of bullets had deformed quite badly when pulled. I recommend putting in an inch of sand, or at least try some ground walnut shell tumbler media, in the hammer so the bullet will not hit the hammer's interior so hard when they pop out of the cartridge.

Good product

Written on Jun 30, 2020

Nicely cut and well finished. All milling matched up for an easy installation. Warne always puts out a consistently accurate accessory. My HS Precision rifle is now being used for extended long range steel target shooting, so I needed the extra MOA tapered mount. Good price here also.

Best after-market mag maker

Written on Aug 21, 2018

Mec-Gar mags are the best of the three well known after-market magazine manufacturers. They make the original magazines for many pistol manufacturers. Unlike other brands that often need extra work just to get them to function correctly, this is almost never the case with Mec-Gar mags.

I prefer this brand to some others

Written on Aug 19, 2018

I do a lot of load work ups, which means for me, five shot groups at several different and increasing powder weights. Thus the 20 count cases are perfect for me and most other hand loaders. All the plastic case manufacturer's products are usable. I just prefer the Frankford Arsenal case to their main competitor only because the bottom of their cover piece is not "notched out" like other brands. Notched tops always seem to catch on the sides of the bottom piece when trying to cover your rounds, while the F.A. design does not. I prefer not to use the grey color cases since they are not as easy to see through. You can see your bullet count more easily with the other color choices, but all are more than acceptable.
