Better than factory chokes

Review for
Trulock Tri Star Precision Hunter Choke Tube
I purchased a set of these for my TriStar Viper 410. They have a much longer parallel section than the flush fitting chokes that came with the gun as well as the extended choke version made by Tri Star. I have used Trulock chokes in the past and have always had decent patterns and customer service from them. Optics Planet had these for a good price and the spread of approximately .003 per step in choke performance is a good choice to provide the expected results for the little 410 at acceptable yardages. I have read that the Tri Star used the same thread as Beretta Mobile chokes, but these being made by Trulock for the Tristar, assures a good fit. Mine all screw in and out easily and my mike shows them to be bored as stated on the tube.
I feel these offer a good improvement over the factory chokes that came with the gun. Also, being extended (about 7/8" outside the barrel) and knurled, they give you quick access to changing in the field to another choke, should you desire by leaving them hand tight and quickly spinning one out and another in. (Gun unloaded, of course!!) Or you can torque the one down with a choke wrench and be set for the day.
