I've been using the standard charging handles and not quite being super comfortable with them. Not hat I noticed so much while actually shooting. But I decided that a little more grip would be worth the extra price. Well I now know what I was missing. This handle is not too much wider but it feels so much more controlled and positive to my fingers. Like it was custom made for my fingers to just automatically align on the sweet spot. I'll be buying a few more sooner.
I was tempted to buy the 600 lumen version but went with the 1000. Glad I did. I was afraid that it would be too bright but the way the HL beam works it doesn't feel over powered for inside a house. It is most definitely blinding if pointed at your face at night. I tried it outside but were I live it doesn't get super dark and the type of beam isn't that focused and didn't reach out like a more focused beam would. That being said the HL beam is optimized exactly for what I wanted it for. I probably would not use any light outside as long as all the street lights and home lights are on. But in a dark house, sheds or other structures it is impressive. I am really impressed and happy with it. I'm not using the touch pad yet but the button and where I have it mounted works great with my left hand thumb. Once I get a few more and won't be switching them between rifles I'll put the pad on.
I specifically bought this light to be compact and light up a broad area. It is both. Not my smallest 2 aaa light but that is because the beam end slides up to let out light in a 360 degree radius. I tested it in my kitchen with the lights out and I would be able to prepare a meal that way. It has a rubber end that supports the light well and between the 360 degree light and the upward light reflecting off the ceiling it does a good job. The entire kitchen is lit enough to work. It is not real bright but it is enough and by far better than candles for more reasons than just the brightness.
I put this on a Rock River upper that came with the Picatinny gas block. I no longer have an optic mounted on it and didn't like the flip up sight I had. I found this and gave it a try. Works good, adjustment works well.
