Great starter thermal for the price.

I was debating on dropping 2-2.5k on a 640 thermal. This caught my attention by having a LRF and being a slightly higher resolution the others in this price range.
For $1350 after a coupon and getting to play around with it, I’m very happy with the purchase. I will be taking on my first hunt here soon my tune back in to let you know how it performs.
The only downside I’ve seen thus far is the mounting system is proprietary. I don’t really like it, it’s fine it functions it seems robust. But spending and extra almost $500 to get a 30mm scope style seemed like a little steep. I also don’t really like the blue on the scope but for the price to performance it’s hard to complain about the looks.

Review for
Jacob Grey Firearms Safety Selector Switch
This is one the top end of switches price wise, was really excited to try it out, knowing JG is a “premium” brand. Well I can say that the cam itself is not bad, very tactile, no slope. But the paddles themselves are extremely sharp, as in will cut you. If you only shoot with gloves on it might not be terrible. But could also easily snag on anything. It’s like the cam and the way you attach the paddles are super well thought out, you can angle them in any direction you want but the design is one of the worst most uncomfortable I’ve tried. Would like to see JG make multiple styles of paddles to fit the cam. Until then this one’s a no go.

*DOES NOT HOLD ZERO WITH .556*

I was extremely excited about this product, paying a heavy premium I would expect the thing to do the one thing that it’s supposed to do. I was driving myself crazy at the range today, bore sighting shooting a few rounds to not be able to hit anything checking bore sight again and it being WAY off. I notice setting it up in a vice I can see movement just by pushing the scope with my hand. Super disappointing. Have no idea why there are so many positive reviews, either they put it on guns that stay indoors and don’t get used or I got a bad batch. The idea and design is very cool, if it worked it would be awesome but I can’t have it on my gun just to look pretty, it needs to be able to hold zero.
