I was reticent to order this scope. I mean, seriously, a $300+ retail scope for right at $100? Soooo glad I did buy it. Glad enough to immediately order 2 more; another 4-16 and a 3-12. I am a fan of 30mm tubes for the greater brightness. But the big ocular lense on this scope and exceptional clarity makes the 1" tube seem like a 30mm. I really can't find anything I would complain about at twice the price. Clear, bright, sharp reticle, accurate positive click turrets, perfect parallax adjustment; simply a super scope at this price point or even double this price. I shot a box pattern at 30 yards with an AirMaks Katran HPV Long, going 2" up and 2" over and it came back to zero perfectly. So since the perfect scope does not exist, what would I change if I could?
I shoot mainly air rifles and generally between 30-100 yards. Because I shoot fairly short range and within a limited oer-all distance, I'm not normally big on "clicking" to zero. Usually I just memorize my holdover and use the mil-dots. So with a 4 mil-dot reticle this scope does require me to change my approach a bit. And the dots are quite small; almost just blisters on the below center Y axis. But the picture is so clear that it does not actually hinder much and the turrets are so easy to unlock and adjust without leaving the sight that it is simply not a problem. I would love to have reticle like I have on my Athlon scope but by no measure is the reticle a deal breaker; just not my preferred version.
