After looking at several options for an AR-15 build for a client wanting DMR/SPR rifle I found this to be the best choice.
Fully adjustable without the need for tools and reasonably light and really solid. You will need to make sure you have an A2 rifle length buffer tube; one point I'd like to see included to enhance the value considering the cost of a tube is minimal. The PRS is an attractive stock as nice benefit as well.
I decided to try a "better" pair of electronic ear muffs so I went with these pro ears. I do appreciate the better NRR over my old favorite $40.00 Howard Leight Impact Sport OD Electric Earmuffs, but I have some reservations as to value and ease of use. First thing I did not like was the quality of the sound, I found it lower quality than my old cheap ones and it took me some time to adjust to it. The other peeve is the need for 4 expensive batteries that are not what I'd call common. I've been spoiled with the auto off feature with the HL Ipmacts and after burning up a few sets of batteries I have gotten better about making sure they are off. I keep 2 sets (8) of these batteries in my range bag because I know I'm not going to go get them at the convenience store in a pinch. Slowly I have grown to prefer the pro ears but I always keep the HL Impacts on hand and have given several new pairs as gifts to friends that shoot with the old fashion muffs or plugs. I do view these as "better" than the Howard Leight Impact Sport OD Electric Earmuffs and now use them as my first choice but unless you are easily able to pop off 200 plus dollars for them as the premium hearing protection they offer I'd look pretty close and the HL Ipmacts. I use ear plugs in combination with the HLs to gain the NRR I want and it works really well.
I have several other CT lasergrips installed on other pistols and have always found them a good addition for use on a defensive firearm. I was a bit concerned when I read that the grip activation was dissimilar to the models I had already. Some reviewers mentioned difficulty activating the side panel switches with their particular grip. The models I'm used to activate from a switch on the front strap and almost any grip will activate the laser in this configuration. I was relieved to find that for me the side activation was as natural and positive as I would have expected from a quality product from CT. The only other issue with not just this but any CT lasergrip is that a well trained finger posture can block the laser. I don't want to think some users are running around with their finger on the trigger to avoid this.... It just takes a bit of retraining to maintain proper gun handling and an unobstructed laser.
I own Blade Tech holsters in many configurations for many pistols and they never let me down. Solid, adjustable and reliable. They many not be the best choice for CC but they are my favorite for training and competition. OpticsPlanet is the best place to buy them too...... Cheaper and faster than factory direct for sure. 100% quality holsters......
Without the card I'd find little value in these. Easier to insert than foam type but not as good at noise blocking without some effort in placement and fiddling. I do like the cord as I can pull one or both and re-install. I've managed to keep track of them and use them under a good pair of Gold Ears. Nice for instruction situations to wear the plugs and have the electronic muffs. Will go out of my way to replace them when lost or damaged.....
